Interesting things to visit:
The
Saint Mary of the Mountain Stairs, the symbol of the city, are made up of 142 steps, graced with coloured majolica (and illumination on 24th and 25th July when the Patron Saint Feast is celebrated). Along the stairs there are many shops selling typical ceramics.
Saint Mary of the Mountain Church houses the precious Byzantine 13th century Madonna of Conadomini's panel.
The
Public Garden "Vittorio Emanuele" dated back to the 19th century is one of the most beautiful in Italy and it covers an area of 10 ha made up of greenery, ceramic and the fountain of Flora.
The
Norman Saint Julian Church, rebuilt in the 17th century with a surprising art nouveau façade.
Saint Francis Bridge, graced with wonderful ceramics, was built in the first half of the 17th century to connect the hills of the city.
Museum of Ceramics which houses all the Sicilian output starting from the Middle Ages till 1800.
